The Banksia Beach ramp sits in a gorgeous, quiet spot with stunning views of the Glasshouse Mountains; a lovely place to just take a moment and breathe. The ramp itself is just a small single-lane sand ramp, so it’s really only suited for a little tinnie, and yep, you’ll need a 4wd to use the ramp.
Keep in mind the ramp can get hit with cross currents and waves, so timing matters. Aim for high tide if you can.
There’s a decent amount of parking, but if you’re heading out on a public holiday or a big event, it's best to get in early before it fills up.
The area is well looked after; it's clean, with good amenities and a great beach vibe. There are heaps of BBQ spots with bins dotted along the parkway, plus a playground near the toilets right at the T-intersection of Sunderland and Endeavour.
It’s a super popular hangout; think families having BBQs, people out walking their dogs, and kids running around. It’s especially great for families with little ones thanks to the calm water, which makes it perfect for a splash or a lazy paddle. There’s even a sweet little fishing spot if that’s your thing.
All in all, it's a peaceful, feel-good place to spend some quality time outdoors.
