Barungwarra Bushland Reserve Boat Ramp

The Barungwarra Bushland Reserve in Bald Hills, part of the greater Brisbane area, offers a small single-lane concrete boat ramp that's ideal for launching small boats, personal watercraft, and kayaks. With relatively calm tidal conditions, it provides easy access to the South Pine River and is a peaceful spot for paddling, fishing, or simply enjoying time on the water. Night paddling is also possible here, adding to its quiet charm.

The ramp suits trailer boats and includes nearby areas along the shoreline where you can cast a line from the bank. While the area is generally well protected and rarely busy, it’s worth noting that the ramp is fairly steep and space for beaching boats is limited due to large rocks along the shoreline. Still, it's a convenient launch point with minimal congestion and great river access.

The boat ramp and car park have both seen recent upgrades. The sealed parking area now offers marked bays for cars and trailers (with plenty of spaces for them to park), and the layout supports one-way traffic for easy manoeuvring. While there are no amenities or shelters at the ramp itself, the surrounding trees provide plenty of natural shade. Insect repellent is a good idea, especially in the warmer months.

For those after additional facilities, Canterbury Park is just a short distance from the ramp. It features a cricket pitch, children's playground, BBQ areas, outdoor fitness equipment, and public toilets, making it a convenient spot to extend your visit.
