Beaver Rock Boat Ramp

The Beaver Rock Boat Ramp, situated in the rural Fraser Coast region near Maryborough, is a dual-lane tidal ramp accessed via an unsealed dirt road. It provides direct entry to the southern end of the Mary River, near its mouth, with access extending into the Great Sandy Strait. While the ramp itself is in good condition and quite wide, it is steep and lacks surrounding infrastructure, so some caution is needed.

There’s no pontoon here, and the ramp can become muddy and slippery, especially at low tide or after rain. Users should watch out for uneven joins in the concrete surface, which can be sharp underfoot or under-tyre. That said, it remains a popular launch spot for semi-professional fishers due to its quiet setting and convenient waterway access.

The area offers ample parking beneath tree cover, with plenty of space for cars and trailers. A high-mounted security camera is present, though theft has been reported in the past, so it's best to avoid leaving valuables in your vehicle. Lighting is minimal, and there are no amenities on site.

Despite the lack of facilities, its peaceful location makes it a pleasant place to relax even if you're not heading out on the water. With threadfin salmon known to appear in the area and a tranquil riverside atmosphere, Beaver Rock makes for a quiet escape; ideal for fishing, picnicking, or simply taking in the sounds of the river.
