The Bramston Beach Boat Ramp is located on the eastern side of Bramston Beach and provides convenient access to the ocean. The facility features a single-lane ramp and a small jetty, with the surrounding breakwater and mangrove areas offering some protection from the elements.
A new boat ramp was constructed at Joyce Creek in 2021 to replace the previous facility. The ramp provides boat owners with access to the islands and offshore reefs around Bramston Beach, making it a handy launching point for fishing and boating adventures. However, Joyce Creek can become inaccessible during very low tides, so it is important to check local tide times before launching.
There is a large paved area adjacent to the ramp where users of the boat ramp can park their vehicles. On the way to the ramp, there is a bin station for waste disposal. The ramp itself has minimal facilities, you can only find a table and a couple of benches, rubbish bins, and lamp posts that provides lighting at night.
The surrounding coastline offers plenty to explore, including parks, beaches and secluded areas. Bramston Beach (the actual beach) has an extensive 7-kilometre stretch of beach to the north, while a shorter 1.5-kilometre beach runs south towards Joyce Creek. Further south is another four-kilometre stretch of coastline that can only be reached during very low tide.
The area also offers several options for visitors staying overnight. Bramston Beach Resort provides motel-style accommodation, along with a café during the day and a restaurant in the evening. The local council campground caters to both tent and caravan travellers, with powered and unpowered sites available. Campers can also make use of picnic and barbecue facilities, while basic supplies such as ice and ice creams are available on site.
Bramston Beach is particularly appealing for those looking to escape the crowds and enjoy a quieter coastal setting.
Visitors travelling with dogs should take note of local restrictions and crocodile warning signs, particularly around waterways, and keep pets appropriately supervised.
