The Coalmine Beach Boat Ramp is located on the Nornalup Inlet near Walpole and provides a convenient launching area for visitors looking to explore the inlet and surrounding waterways. The single-lane concrete boat ramp is small and has become affected by silt, so it is now best suited to launching smaller dinghies rather than larger boats. There is a small wooden jetty beside the ramp.
A small parking lot is located beside the ramp where only a few vehicles (whether with trailers or not) can park.
Coalmine Beach is also a peaceful spot for fishing, particularly at night when the area is quiet and offers good opportunities to catch fish. The sheltered location makes it an enjoyable place to spend time outdoors and take in the natural surroundings.
The nearby Coalmine Beach Holiday Park is a popular base for visitors exploring the Walpole area. The park is well protected from southerly winds and provides easy access to Coalmine Beach. While some sites can feel a little tight, most are relatively level and comfortable.
The park is surrounded by plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities. Walkers and mountain bike enthusiasts can easily access sections of the Bibbulmun Track and Munda Biddi Trail, while the nearby town is also within walking distance.
The area is particularly beautiful around sunset, with visitors able to enjoy stunning views across the water and surrounding cliffs. Whether you're stopping by for a quiet fishing session, launching a small dinghy, enjoying a walk, or simply watching the sunset, Coalmine Beach offers a relaxed setting for enjoying the natural beauty of the Walpole-Nornalup region.
