Located within the peaceful Coopernook Foreshore Reserve and accessible via George Gibson Drive, the Coopernook Boat Ramp provides a convenient launching point for exploring the Lansdowne River, which flows through to the Manning River. The facility features a dual-lane concrete boat ramp with a floating pontoon, making it suitable for a range of boating activities.

Positioned directly opposite the Coopernook Hotel and beside a small riverside park, the ramp offers a relaxed setting for a day on the water. Parking immediately beside the ramp can be limited for vehicles with trailers, however, additional space is available at the large unsealed car park near the hotel.

The foreshore area is well equipped with a range of facilities, including BBQs, picnic tables, toilets, shaded seating areas, waste bins, a fish cleaning station, and the nearby jetty and pontoon. It’s a handy spot for boaters wanting easy river access, as well as visitors looking to enjoy a quiet riverside picnic or fishing session.

Beyond its practical facilities, Coopernook Foreshore Reserve is a charming location with plenty of local history. The upgraded toilet facilities feature historic photographs showcasing the area’s past, while remnants of the original river crossing and old wharf provide a glimpse into the town’s heritage. The site was once part of the original highway route, and the nearby river was historically used for timber shipbuilding.

Today, the reserve remains a popular community space with plenty to enjoy. Families can make use of the playground, BBQ areas, open green spaces, and picnic facilities, while visitors can relax by the river, cast a line from the pontoon, or explore the surrounding area.
