east trinity boat ramp

The East Trinity Boat Ramp, located in the quiet coastal community of East Trinity near Cairns, is a single-lane concrete ramp that gives access straight out to the Coral Sea. You’ll find it at Second Beach, just off Pine Creek Yarrabah Road.

The ramp is best suited for smaller boats, but it’s worth noting that tides play a major role here. Launching at low tide is not possible, and the ramp can become quite slippery further down. Strong tidal currents are also common, so checking tide times before heading out is essential.

Parking is limited, particularly if you’re towing a trailer, so plan ahead. The area is also well-signed with crocodile warnings, something to take seriously when near the water’s edge.

What the ramp lacks in convenience, it makes up for in scenery. The outlook across the water is peaceful, with views back over the city of Cairns and a cape on the opposite bank. It’s a lovely spot to sit in the shade, enjoy the fresh air, and watch boats motor out of Trinity Inlet.

Sunsets here are particularly impressive, casting the inlet in golden light. For those who plan to go fishing, East Trinity is a good place to drop a line and enjoy a quiet fishing session. Secluded, scenic, and calm, it’s a little escape where the views are as much of a drawcard as the fishing itself.
