Emerald Lakes Boat Ramp

The Emerald Lakes Boat Ramp, located on Lakeside Drive in Carrara on the Gold Coast, is a wide, single-lane ramp best suited for non-powered craft. Motorised boats and jet skis aren’t permitted here, making it ideal for kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, or just a quiet day fishing on the lake.

While the waters are calm and safe, the area itself is fairly contained, with not many places to explore beyond the lake.

Parking is limited, and there are no on-site amenities, so it’s more of a simple, functional launch spot than a full-service facility.

Surrounding the ramp, Emerald Lakes Parklands offers a fantastic setting for outdoor activities. The lakeside paths are perfect for an early morning walk, a run, or a leisurely cycle. Families will appreciate the large playground, open grassy areas for kite flying, and plenty of space for the kids to ride bikes. It’s also a favourite spot for hobby sailboats and a great place to simply sit back and take in the scenery.

The area shines at sunset, when the lake reflects the evening light, and the striking buildings around the water make for a beautiful backdrop. Dog walkers will enjoy the wide paths, though it’s worth noting that lighting is limited after dark. While the parklands are well-kept and peaceful, one downside is the lack of public toilets, a point often raised by visitors who come for picnics or family outings.

Overall, Emerald Lakes is a serene and family-friendly destination. Whether you’re launching a kayak, fishing off the banks, enjoying a walk, or soaking in the sunset views, it’s a beautiful spot to unwind in the heart of Carrara.
