Located at Cunningham Beach in Lansvale, the Floyd Bay Boat Ramp offers convenient access to Floyd Bay and the winding Georges River beyond. The facility features a dual-lane concrete ramp that provides all-tide water access, making it a popular spot for smaller boats, jet skis, kayaks, and canoes.
The ramp itself is generally in fair condition, although it can become slippery during low tide, so extra care is recommended when launching or retrieving. Despite this, it remains a handy and well-used access point for those looking to enjoy the waterways around Chipping Norton Lakes.
There are plenty of spaces in the dedicated car park for parking cars and trailers. There are no amenities available within the ramp.
The surrounding area has a relaxed atmosphere and is a pleasant place to spend time, whether you’re heading out on the water or simply enjoying the scenery. Many visitors enjoy stopping by with a coffee, a newspaper, or a good book to unwind by the lakeside. With calm waters and open surroundings, it’s also a nice spot to sit back and relax for a while.
In August 2022, the site received major upgrades through investment from Council and Boating NSW, including the reconstruction of the boat ramp, roadway, and car park entrance. The improvements were designed to provide safer and easier water access while also meeting updated standards and accommodating heavier vehicle and trailer combinations.
While the location is enjoyable and well-positioned, some visitors have noted that rubbish management could be improved to help keep the area looking its best.
