Tucked away on Centenary Drive North in
Hollywell, this little boat ramp is a gem. It’s got a cute sandy beach and a
small one-lane concrete ramp that makes it super easy to get into the
Broadwater, especially if you're cruising around in a tinny or on a jet ski.
Just a heads-up; it can get pretty busy on weekends, so plan ahead!
While launching, watch out for cruiser waves as
they can make things a bit tricky. It also gets a bit shallow at low tide
around the ramp, both north and south. That said, you won’t run aground, but
just aim for high tide if you're heading out with your boat.
It’s a great spot for fishing or watersports,
but no surfing or wave jumping within 100 metres of the shore (rules are
rules!). There’s easy parking, though not heaps of space if you’ve got a
trailer; sometimes you’ll end up parking on the roadside.
All in all, it’s a lovely place to chill by the
water. Perfect for a swim, or a relaxed picnic (yep, there are tables), and the
public toilets are clean too. Definitely one of those launch-and-lunch kinda
spots.
