The Holly Avenue Boat Ramp, located along Holly Avenue near Centenary Drive in Hollywell on the Gold Coast, is a modest single-lane concrete ramp.
While the ramp itself is fairly basic, it does offer lovely views of the city skyline, adding a scenic backdrop to any outing.
Facilities are minimal; there’s no tie-up area, limited parking (mostly roadside), and the ramp is quite exposed to tidal currents, which can make launching a bit challenging. Because of these conditions, it’s generally better suited for more experienced boaters or those looking for a quieter, less crowded spot to launch from.
Despite its limitations, the area has a relaxed atmosphere. A grassy, shaded park runs alongside the ramp, with public toilets, picnic benches, and tables available. Even for those not launching a boat, it’s a pleasant place to enjoy a swim, have a picnic, or simply wade in the water.
