The Isle of Capri Public Boat Ramp, located on St. Andrews Avenue in Surfers Paradise, offers direct access to the Nerang River via a single-lane ramp. Set against a scenic city skyline, it’s a quiet spot with beautiful views, especially at night when the city lights reflect off the water.
That said, the ramp is quite basic. There’s no pontoon or tie-up area, and the surrounding rocks can be slippery and difficult to navigate, especially during launch or retrieval. The ramp surface itself can also get extremely slick, particularly along the sides, so wearing shoes with grip is strongly recommended.
Parking is limited, with only a small car park available, and there are no lights or amenities on-site, except for a couple of benches in front of the water. Tidal currents can be strong here, making it less suitable for beginners. However, the ramp is close to good fishing spots and ski areas, and it's somewhat protected from the wind.
While not the most fully equipped facility, this ramp can be convenient for experienced boaters looking to avoid the crowds. Its quiet nature means there’s usually space to park and launch without delay, ideal if you know what you're doing and don’t mind the minimal setup.
