The Jabiru Island Boat Ramp, located on the northern end of the Gold Coast, offers both triple-lane and double-lane ramps positioned side by side. Set along the calm waters of Coombabah Creek, it’s well protected from wind and swell, making it a reliable option for launching in most conditions.
The ramp is designed with ease of use in mind; there’s enough space to drive around and align your boat perfectly for launch, which is especially helpful for larger craft. It’s generally straightforward to use, though at low tide you may need to back your trailer in a bit further due to shallower water. Still, it’s considered a very good all-round ramp with plenty of room to manoeuvre.
Facilities are solid, with a car park that accommodates approximately 20+ vehicles with trailers, and clean public toilets nearby. The area is family-friendly, offering BBQ areas, picnic tables, a playground, and even a boardwalk where you can spot crabs along the shoreline.
It’s a popular spot not just for boating, but also for a casual fish, a splash in the water with the kids, or simply enjoying a quiet afternoon by the creek.
