The Keppel Bay Marina serves as the gateway to the beautiful Keppel Bay Islands, including the iconic Great Keppel Island and Pumpkin Island. Known as the largest and one of the best marinas in Northern Australia, this multi-award-winning facility is home to more than 500 berths and offers excellent access for boaters heading offshore or exploring the nearby islands.
The marina features multiple public boat ramps that are available for everyone to use, whether you’re a marina customer or simply launching for the day. One of the ramps is located at the end of Waterline Drive beside a small, greenery-lined breakwater and includes a four-lane concrete ramp with a side pontoon for easy loading and unloading.
A second ramp sits beside the Yeppoon Volunteer Coast Guard office and features a larger four-lane concrete setup with a central pontoon, along with a spacious rigging area that makes preparing boats straightforward and convenient.
Between the two ramps is a huge trailer parking area with plenty of room for vehicles and trailers, plus another carpark beside the toilet area, although spaces can fill quickly during busy weekends and peak holiday periods. A nearby service station also makes refuelling easy, with competitively priced petrol and diesel available right next door.
Boaters regularly praise the marina for its wide channels, which allow smooth access to berths in most weather conditions, while the layout helps make docking easier even when winds pick up. The ramps themselves are clean, free to use, and cater to a wide range of vessel sizes, from jet skis through to larger boats.
The marina is also a popular starting point for fishing trips and island adventures, with many visitors highlighting how easy it is to launch, park nearby, and head straight out onto the water. Clean toilet and sheltered picnic tables facilities, scenic surroundings, and a relaxed atmosphere add to the appeal, while nearby restaurants, accommodation, boat wash, fuel, and shops make the location especially convenient for day trips or longer stays.
For those wanting to unwind before or after a day on the water, The Waterline Restaurant and Café offers breakfast, lunch, barista-made coffee, and waterfront views overlooking charter vessels such as Keppel Konnections, Funtastic Cruises, Keppel Explorer, and Pumpkin Xpress.
Whether you’re planning a fishing trip, island getaway, or casual day on the water, Keppel Bay Marina offers a well-equipped and welcoming base to launch your next adventure.
