Koolewong Waterfront Reserve Boat Ramps, Tascott

The Koolewong Waterfront Reserve Boat Ramps are located in the Reserve in Tascott. There are 3 different ramps, spread along the area. The first ramp offers a convenient dual-lane concrete launch with a floating pontoon, giving boaters easy access to the Brisbane Water. Just nearby, there’s a second single-lane concrete ramp with its own pontoon, while a few metres further along, an older single-lane ramp remains, weathered and not upgraded like the first two.

The first two ramps are popular for their ease of use and newly upgraded facilities. They feature ample parking, a new jetty for tying up, and smooth launching and retrieval, making them suitable for most small to medium-sized boats. While some weed and oyster shells can accumulate, especially on smaller ramps or in certain winds, the ramps generally offer a reliable and straightforward boating experience.

The ramps are exposed to light waves during strong NE winds, so smaller tinnies are best suited for these conditions. Plus, the first two separate ramps are quite narrow and suitable only for vessels under 6m unless your trailer reversing skills are well above average.

Despite occasional seaweed and seagrass, the ramps are well-maintained and widely used by friendly locals who are often happy to share tips on fishing activity.

Fishing enthusiasts will appreciate the fish cleaning facilities located near the first two ramps, while the third, older ramp has nearby toilet facilities, picnic tables, and a small car park. Recent upgrades have enhanced not only the functionality but also the look of the area, offering scenic spots to relax and enjoy the sunrise views over Brisbane Water.
