The Laurieton Boat Ramp, located beside the Y Laurieton War Memorial Baths, offers a single-lane concrete ramp that provides direct access to the Camden Haven Inlet. It’s a convenient local launch point, simple and narrow, with no floating jetty, so launching can be a bit more hands-on, but it’s a practical option when the busier ramps are full. A small wharf sits alongside, often used for fishing or even a quick swim.
The area is also a pleasant spot to unwind. There’s seating where you can enjoy morning tea, lunch, or simply sit in the sun while watching the seagulls, pelicans, and peewees wander through. Beyond the ramp, a paved walkway stretches across the mangroves and continues for roughly two kilometres toward Laurieton, making it a scenic place for a relaxed stroll.
Many visitors stop by with fish and chips, enjoy the view, and often find themselves feeding pelicans after their meal. It’s a great little location overall, though parking space is limited and may be tight for larger trailers or big rigs. The nearby United Services Club provides access to toilets and water, adding convenience to the site.
Additional facilities include BBQs and picnic tables, making it an easy spot to enjoy a slow afternoon by the water.
