Mandorah Jetty and Boat Ramp, located off Charles Point Road in Mandorah, is a real gem if you're after a scenic spot with a bit of everything. The massive jetty is a hub of activity; it’s where ferries dock from Darwin (and load and unload passengers), locals drop a line for land-based fishing, and visitors soak in the killer views. Just a few steps away, there’s a single-lane concrete boat ramp that gets the job done, but fair warning: it’s not the easiest one to use.
The angle of the ramp means it can be a bit tricky, especially when the waves pick up, especially sometimes, they can get pretty rough. And if you’re planning to launch at low tide, prepare for a challenge. This spot is definitely better suited for experienced boaters who know how to handle a bit of a wild launch.
That said, parking won’t be a problem. There’s a massive car park with plenty of space for vehicles and trailers, and there are designated spots for those with disabilities too.
One thing to keep in mind: there are no toilets or washroom facilities, so plan ahead if you’re sticking around for a while. But honestly, it’s worth the trip. The views of Darwin from here are just beautiful, especially around sunset.
Whether you're into fishing, ferry rides, or just chilling by the water, the Mandorah Jetty and Boat Ramp is the kind of place that helps you slow down and breathe a little easier. It’s a peaceful escape from the city rush and the perfect spot to unwind, throw a line in, and enjoy the outdoors.
