Martin Street Boat Ramp

The Martin Street Boat Ramp, located in the town of Ballina in the Northern Rivers region, offers access to North Creek, which flows into the Richmond River and eventually out to the ocean. It’s a single-lane concrete ramp that’s simple and easy to use, especially for locals looking for a quieter launch point.

While the ramp isn’t particularly large or well-maintained (potholes are noticeable, particularly at low tide), it serves its purpose for small boats, kayaks, canoes, and other light watercraft.

The ramp is narrow and not ideal for larger vessels with a 15-knot speed limit and restrictions on PWC operation in the area. It’s best suited to one vehicle at a time, making it more appropriate for casual, low-traffic use.

The ramp is also on the shallow side during low tide, but that contributes to it being less crowded than other nearby options. That said, it’s a good place to launch if you’re after a peaceful outing on the water.

Parking is available nearby, including space for trailers. It’s conveniently close to shops, making it easy to grab supplies or take a walk. While there aren’t many amenities on-site, there is a toilet block and rubbish bins available.

The location is also popular with fishers and offers a pleasant spot to pause for lunch and enjoy the view. Swimming isn’t recommended, mainly due to the presence of stingrays, but it’s still a scenic and functional launch site for smaller craft and a relaxing visit overall.
