Milne Inlet boat ramp, tucked away in the town of Bynoe, is a handy little spot if you’re looking to get out onto the creek and into Beagle Gulf. It’s got a small, single-lane concrete ramp that does the job nicely... but heads up, it can be a bit of a challenge during low tide. You’ll need at least a 3+ metre tide to safely launch, so checking the tide chart beforehand is a must.
Getting there involves a bit of a rough ride; the road to the ramp is unsealed, and so is the parking area nearby. There’s only a small patch of space for parking cars and trailers, so it’s a good idea to plan ahead if you’re heading out with a crew.
Also, and this is important: there’s been a big croc spotted hanging around the area for years, and the creek is known as croc country. So be smart, stay alert, and definitely don’t go wading in the water.
One last thing: there aren’t any amenities at the ramp, so make sure you’ve got everything you need before you get there. Snacks, water, gear... whatever essentials you will need, make sure to bring them all with you, because you won’t find a shop or restroom nearby.
All in all, it’s a great access point if you're prepared and know what to expect.
