The Musselroe Bay Boat Ramp, tucked away in Tasmania’s quiet northeast, is a great little spot for a relaxed day by the water. It’s a single-lane concrete ramp that makes launching your boat super straightforward, especially since it got an upgrade in March 2024. There’s even a landing stage with a port marker to help guide the way.
While there are a few designated parking spots for cars and trailers, many people just park along the beach, which works fine if you don’t mind a bit of sand under the tires. Speaking of the beach, it’s stunning. White sand, wide open views, and pelicans hanging out along the shore make it feel like a peaceful escape. The drive in is on a rough gravel road, so expect some dust and be cautious of wildlife crossing the road, but once you arrive, the view makes it all worth it.
Alongside the ramp and beach is a grassy patch with a couple of picnic tables and benches. It’s a perfect setup for a casual lunch or just chilling out between fishing or boating trips.
You can spend the day there and even enjoy a small campfire, which adds a nice touch for groups or families. Just keep in mind, overnight camping isn’t allowed as it’s a day-use-only spot.
There’s also a short walking trail nearby if you feel like stretching your legs and taking in more of the scenery. Whether you’re launching a boat, soaking in the sea breeze, or just having a picnic while watching the pelicans go about their day, Musselroe Bay offers a calm, beautiful place to enjoy the coast.
