Visitors will also find plenty of amenities to make the most of their trip, including a small pebbly beach, undercover picnic tables, BBQ facilities, clean public toilets, a children's playground, and open grassy areas perfect for relaxing. The reserve is also wheelchair accessible and dog-friendly, with dogs welcome on a leash.
Following the severe flooding in May 2025, much of the reserve, including the pontoon, jetty, fish cleaning facilities, picnic shelters, and pathways, sustained significant damage. Since then, Port Macquarie-Hastings Council has worked alongside insurers, contractors, and specialist suppliers to restore the site. The good news is that the pontoon and ramp has now reopened, once again providing safe access for boating, fishing, paddling, and other recreational activities on the Hastings River.
Recent upgrades have been well received by the community, with visitors praising the improved boat ramp and modern facilities. While some picnic shelters and landscaping continue to be restored, the reserve remains an inviting place to launch a boat, cast a line, enjoy a picnic, or simply unwind by the river.
