Roys Creek boat ramp off Roys Road is a quiet little gem; perfect if you’re after a chilled-out launch into Coochin Creek. It’s a single-lane concrete ramp with a solid pontoon, so getting your boat in and out is pretty smooth.
However, be ready for a bit of current across the ramp when the tide’s coming in or going out as they can make retrieving a bit tricky. High tide is your friend here since low tide reveals a bunch of sandbanks. The ramp is located near the Bribie Island Passage, so the views are amazing.
There’s decent parking for cars and trailers, but it can fill up, and you might end up on the roadside. There are a few picnic tables and clean public toilets, so you can definitely make a day of it. Facilities are a bit limited otherwise, so come prepared. Take note that camping isn't allowed in the area as well.
Whether you're boating, fishing, or just kicking back by the water, it's a solid spot. Shore fishing is easy, and there are a few interesting spots right near the ramp; just pick a spot and throw a line in. Don't forget to wear shoes in the water since there are sharp rocks and stonefish lurking in these waters.
Overall, it’s a great place to launch your boat and enjoy the tranquil nature with a view.
