Located on Point Nepean Rd in Sorrento, Victoria, this boat ramp provides direct access to the southern reaches of Port Phillip Bay. It is a popular launching point for various boaters, especially fishermen participating in water-based activities. Sorrento's coastal location makes it an ideal spot for fishing, sailing, and exploring the scenic beauty of Port Phillip Bay.
The ramp features three well-designed concrete lanes, with a jetty on either side and a breakwater wall. However, boaters are advised to check local weather and tidal conditions before launching to ensure a safe and enjoyable outing. A fishing charter is also docked here for those who don't own boats but would like to catch squid, whiting, tuna, kingfish, and gummy sharks with pro fishermen.
There is a large jetty nearby where passenger ferries dock. These ferries provide service between Sorrento and Queenscliff.
The facility offers essential amenities, including a large parking area with more than 50 spots for cars and trailers. However, on peak hours, it can fill up pretty fast.
Other amenities include a public toilet block, a kids' playground, and a spacious park with trees and shaded areas. This is a great place for barbecues, picnics with friends and family, and exploring beautiful garden paths. Visitors can enjoy open grassy areas, sit on benches to soak in the sounds of chirping birds, feel the gentle sea breeze, and admire breathtaking ocean views as boats and ferries pass by. If you're into photography, this location also provides fantastic opportunities for golden hour shots.
