The Toogoom Boat Ramp is a real gem tucked away
in the beautiful Fraser Coast region, right on Beelbi Creek. It’s a top little
spot if you’re keen on fishing or just looking for a peaceful place to hit the
water. The dual lane concrete ramp itself is well looked after and super easy
to use, with a jetty right next to it that's also great for a bit of land-based
fishing if you're not bringing a boat.
Launching your trailer boat here is pretty
straightforward, with enough space for a couple of trailers to use the ramp at
the same time. Just make sure to check the tides before heading out: this area
sees some big tidal changes, and at low tide there's a lot of exposed sand. If
you’re planning to head out from Beelbi Creek, it’s best to launch on a
mid-incoming tide. On the upside, the ramp gives you nice, sheltered access to
the sea, so it’s a smooth ride once you’re out there.
If you’re new to the area, a bit of local
knowledge can go a long way. Luckily, the locals are a friendly bunch, so don’t
be shy about asking for a few tips; they’ll usually be happy to help out.
Parking can be a bit tight, so it’s worth
getting there early if you're planning a full day on the water. But even if
you’re not boating, the spot itself is lovely for a relaxed day out.
There are shady trees, picnic areas with
toilets, holiday homes and a caravan park nearby (if you plan to stay
overnight), and some great spots for swimming or just enjoying lunch by the
water. Plus, you’ve got a coffee shop and a restaurant just a short stroll from
the ramp, making it a great spot for families to hang out while others head off
boating.

great little spot that captures the laid-back charm of the Fraser Coast.
