White Beach is a stunning destination, renowned for its long stretches of white sand and tranquil waters, particularly popular during the summer months. Located on White Beach Road in the town of the same name on the Tasman Peninsula, visitors can enjoy views of Storm Bay. On a clear day, you can see all the way to Hobart and Mount Wellington above it. You can also witness some of the most beautiful sunsets in Tasmania.
The beach features a dual lane concrete boat ramp at the northern end, complemented by a walkway and equipped with a blue navigation light. This all-weather, all-tide ramp allows for safe boat retrieval even at low tide, making it accessible for fishing enthusiasts.
The southern end offers a single lane concrete ramp with an adjacent small jetty, which, while exposed to southwest weather and somewhat restricted at low tide, provides another entry point for boats.
Both ramps have ample spots for cars and trailers parking.
The beach is ideal for families, especially for rock pooling with kids, creating a pleasant day out. Its somewhat secluded nature enhances its appeal, ensuring a peaceful experience amidst beautiful surroundings. Visitors can also enjoy views of the nearby ‘Brother’ and ‘Sister’ Islands, with facilities like toilets available towards the north end. In the evenings, the beach is favoured for squid fishing, making it a versatile spot for recreation and relaxation. Overall, White Beach offers a delightful blend of natural beauty and recreational opportunities.
