The Allworth Boat Ramp, situated near the Allworth Community Hall and the Baths and Picnic Area, offers a single-lane ramp that provides direct access to the Karuah River. The facility underwent a major upgrade completed in March 2024.
The lower section of the ramp, which had been damaged and previously too short for all-tide launching, was fully replaced. It has now been extended several metres from the mean high-water mark to ensure reliable access in all tide conditions. The upper bitumen section has also been patched and refreshed.
Improvements extended to the jetty as well. The old hardwood decking was replaced with new boards, the jetty received a fresh coat of paint, and a refurbished pontoon with a gangway was installed to make launching and retrieving boats easier.
These upgrades complement earlier improvements around the foreshore reserve, including the installation of new toilets and fish-cleaning tables.
There is also ample space within the ramp for car and trailer parking.
The area itself is an enjoyable spot set on a beautiful stretch of river with good fishing. Visitors have praised, even before the upgrade, the jetty for casual fishing, the convenient fish-cleaning station, and the covered tables and seating. Camping along the river is also a memorable experience that visitors should try when they are in the area. With swimming areas, scenic riding trails, and essential amenities all close by, this beautiful area offers a comfortable and relaxed riverside escape.
