Bristow Smith Reserve Boat Ramp, Goolwa North

Located on Barrage Road beside the Goolwa Aquatic Club, the Bristow Smith Reserve Boat Ramp provides convenient access to the River Murray for small to medium-sized watercraft. The facility includes a four-lane concrete boat ramp with a central floating pontoon jetty, and a timber jetty, making it a practical launching point for a variety of on-water activities.

For boaters, the site offers ample sealed parking suitable for both vehicles and boat trailers, along with easy access to the water. Launching here is straightforward, however, to ensure public safety, a designated aquatic activity zone is in place adjacent to the reserve, extending from the Goolwa Aquatic Club car park. Within this area, only low-impact recreational activities are permitted, including swimming, bathing, diving, snorkelling, paddling, canoeing, kayaking, and other human-powered vessels.

Visitors should pay close attention to signage and observe all restrictions. Personal Watercraft users can access the dedicated Goolwa Jet Ski Park located further along Barrage Road.

Beyond its boating facilities, Bristow Smith Reserve has become one of Goolwa’s premier family-friendly destinations. Families can enjoy the upgraded sandy beach and the calm, enclosed swimming area, while anglers can take advantage of excellent fishing opportunities near the mouth of the Murray River.
