The Dongara–Port Denison Boat Ramp sits just off Point Leander Drive, right along the Port Denison Marina foreshore. Positioned within the marina’s sheltered waters, it’s a reliable and well-laid-out launching point. The facility features two concrete ramps and a generously sized jetty, making it an ideal spot for heading out to explore the coastline off Dongara and Port Denison.

The Port Denison Boat Ramp is currently undergoing improvements, including replacing the existing finger jetty with a modern floating version. The old concrete recreational jetty is also being removed to make way for a third launch/retrieve lane and a new recreational jetty. Stage One of these upgrades is expected to be completed in the first half of 2026.

Parking is available close by, along with public toilets for convenience. The surrounding beach and grassed areas also make it easy to unwind after a day on the water, perfect for cooking up your catch and enjoying the relaxed coastal atmosphere. Diesel, water, and additional public toilets can be found at the commercial service jetty, and a range of local businesses offer marine services and maintenance if needed.

If you’re fishing with kids, the marina beach, the recreational ramp area, and the fishing platform at Grannies Beach are all good options. These spots often produce tailor, silver bream, sand whiting, herring, and other family-friendly targets. For more dedicated anglers, the marina’s breakwalls are known for larger species such as mulloway and pink snapper.

Beach fishers will also appreciate nearby favourites like Seaspray Beach, 7-Mile Beach, and South Beach. Public toilets, a playground, and shaded picnic facilities are all close at hand.
