Located at the end of Bogan Street, the Lake Cargelligo Public Boat Ramp provides convenient access to the expansive waters of Lake Cargelligo. The facility features a single-lane boat ramp with a nearby pontoon, making launching and retrieving vessels straightforward for recreational boaters. Situated on the northern side of the larger Lake Cargelligo Boat Ramp precinct, it serves as a practical access point for fishing, water sports, and exploring the lake.

The surrounding foreshore is well set up for families and visitors, offering undercover picnic tables, BBQ facilities, open green spaces, shaded areas, and a children's playground. The nearby large parking area and beautiful lake views make it an inviting spot to spend a few hours or an entire day by the water. Public toilets, sheltered picnic areas, BBQ stations, children's playground, and paved walking trails further add to the area's appeal.

Lake Cargelligo is a popular destination for anglers, with recent fish stocking programs introducing yellowbelly and silver perch to the waterway. The lake's extensive areas of submerged timber, stumps, and structure provide excellent habitat for fish and create plenty of productive fishing locations. Trolling and bait fishing along the eastern side of the lake are particularly popular, with anglers often targeting species such as Murray cod, silver perch, redfin, and yellowbelly throughout the year.

Beyond fishing, the lake is a favourite destination for a wide range of recreational activities. Its calm waters are ideal for sailing, kayaking, waterskiing, swimming, and birdwatching, making it a true aquatic playground in the heart of the Parkes region. A shared walking and cycling path follows the picturesque foreshore, offering an enjoyable way to take in the scenery and local wildlife.

Visitors can also experience the relaxed country atmosphere that Lake Cargelligo is known for, with local attractions including the Lake Cargelligo Museum and the nearby Lachlan River, Australia's fourth-longest river. Whether you're launching a boat, casting a line, or simply enjoying a picnic by the water, Lake Cargelligo offers a welcoming and scenic destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
