The Nords Wharf Boat Ramp, located on Branter Road in Nords Wharf, is a simple single-lane concrete ramp that provides direct access to Lake Macquarie. While there are no toilets or water facilities at the ramp itself, it’s a pleasant spot suited to small vessels and kayaks. Parking is limited, so it’s best to arrive early, especially on busy days.
Just a short walk away is the Nords Wharf Public Jetty, an older-style timber jetty with a freshwater tap and outdoor shower. Street parking here is also limited and set back from the jetty, but the area remains quiet and uncrowded. You can find public toilets in several locations nearby: one is located at the dead end of Marine Parade near Lakes Edge Cottage, another is just off Crangan Bay Drive, and the third is in Baxter Park. Baxter Park also features sheltered picnic benches and tables, as well as BBQ stations.
The foreshore offers an easy way to get into the water, whether you’re launching a boat, taking out a kayak, or simply enjoying a swim. There are no formal amenities, but shaded areas make it a comfortable place for a bring-your-own picnic.
Known for its peaceful atmosphere, Nords Wharf is a great place to take in lake views, watch boats launching, or enjoy a relaxed session of fishing on Lake Macquarie.
