The Palm Beach Boat Ramps, located within Rotary Park Beachfront in Rockingham, offer two well-maintained concrete ramps providing easy access to the ocean. The ramp on the left side of the park, near the car park, features a wide single lane with a small jetty, while the ramp on the right has two concrete lanes separated by a central jetty. Although the left ramp can get shallow at times, both are convenient spots for launching small to medium-sized boats and personal watercraft.
The area is well-equipped, with a large car park for vehicles and trailers, public toilets, and a children’s playground just across from the car park. The sandy beach surrounding the ramps makes it an inviting spot for families. The shallow, calm waters are ideal for kids to play safely, and it’s also a pleasant place for a swim or picnic.
Palm Beach is known for its relaxing atmosphere and beautiful views, particularly at sunset. The beach and park are clean, well-kept, and dog-friendly, offering a peaceful setting for a stroll or an afternoon by the water.
Anglers will also find good fishing opportunities here, including squid and smaller bait fish. Just be mindful of seaweed buildup near the ramps, as it can occasionally pose a risk to boat engines, so a bit of dredging would go a long way in improving the area. Despite that, it remains a popular launch site and a great starting point for exploring nearby islands and marine life.
A few metres to the right, you’ll also find the Palm Beach Jetty, located along the Esplanade opposite Fisher Street. The jetty allows recreational fishing and has convenient on-street parking and public toilet facilities nearby.
