Port Davis Boat Ramp

The Port Davis Boat Ramp, located west of Port Pirie, has recently undergone an upgrade, enhancing launching facilities for both commercial and recreational fishers. The improvements include a brand-new two-lane boat ramp with an adjoining pontoon system, as well as a freshly sealed carpark with plenty of room for cars and trailers.

While the ramp is open for use, a few finishing touches are still in progress, such as pontoon lighting, line marking, wheel stops, rock scour protection, and general site tidy-ups.

This quiet spot may be a little out of the way, but it offers a well-built fishing jetty and peaceful surroundings. Dolphins are known to play in the area, and during the evenings, you might find good-sized crabs, whiting, and plenty of trumpeters, perfect for stocking up on bait for your next trip.

Be aware, though, that mosquitoes can be bothersome, and the area is not suitable for letting dogs roam due to the presence of snakes. Facilities are simple and there are no fees, but also no additional amenities, making it an isolated yet well-equipped launching point for those who appreciate a more rugged, off-the-beaten-path fishing experience.
