The Small Boat Club of South Australia, located on Garden Island near Port Adelaide, is a premier destination for boating enthusiasts. Nestled within Adelaide’s Dolphin Sanctuary, the club offers a safe and scenic environment for sailing, fishing, and recreational boating.
In addition to its dual-lane concrete trailer boat launching ramp with pontoon, the club provides extensive boat maintenance and repair facilities.
The club provides marina berths with power and water connections, as well as traditional chain mooring berths. It is also the only club in Adelaide that offers long-term, affordable building and repair sites, along with a hardstand for boat builders and hobbyists.
For larger maintenance work, there are two working slipways capable of handling vessels up to 20 tonnes and a T-head jetty for short-term repairs, all with access to power and water. These facilities make the Small Boat Club an excellent choice for both recreational boaters and those needing space to maintain or restore their vessels.
The waters around the club are well-protected, making it an ideal spot for a wide range of watercraft, including yachts, powerboats, tinnies, and kayaks.
Beyond boating and maintenance, the club also has social spaces such as clubrooms, featuring a bar, tea and coffee facilities, and regular barbecues. The club is designed for comfort and convenience, offering sheltered harbour access, function rooms, restrooms, showers, and even WiFi. Accessibility is also a priority, with an easy-access car park and entrance.
