The York Cove South Boat Ramp, (also called George Town Ramp) set beside the York Cove Hotel in George Town on the eastern side of the Tamar River mouth, offers a dual-lane concrete ramp with a central pontoon for easy launching. While the ramp is exposed to north-west and northerly weather, it remains accessible across all tides. PWC fenders have also been installed for added convenience.
It’s a pleasant area for casting a line, though catches can be hit-or-miss. The surroundings make it an enjoyable spot to spend some time by the water. The location includes a small parking area, a nearby toilet block, and access to a boat pen.
Overall, it’s a sheltered and practical spot for launching or simply taking in the scenery.
